The successor of the ‘World’s first Dual Sim 3G Smartphone’, the ViewPhone 3 is now available in India. ViewSonic Corporation has announced the launch of the GMS certified ViewPhone 3, the 3G Android smartphone with dual SIM card and dual standby capabilities. Supporting instant access to Android Market’s (now Play store) over 500,000 apps and quicker web browsing performance, the ViewPhone 3 aims at providing a slick user experience.
Designed to meet the requirements of the growing convergence of professional and personal devices, the ViewPhone 3 makes for a good choice for people who are considering purchasing their first smartphone, or for business people who need separate numbers and bills for travelling in different countries. The ViewPhone 3 comes with an 8.89 cm (3.5-inch) multi-touch display screen (with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels), and their custom TouchPal virtual keyboard. The dual GSM SIM capability allows users to fully utilize two distinct numbers and corresponding bills, for managing personal and professional communications.

The singular design enables hassle-free dialing or messaging on both SIMs with no need to reboot the phone. With inbuilt Wi-Fi hotspot and tethering, the 3G/2G data plan on your ViewPhone 3 can act as an instant modem to provide data connectivity to multiple devices, like your laptop and tablet PCs, doing away with the need for external USB data dongle. This reduces the hassle of managing multiple data connections and can significantly bring down data use cost for individual and enterprise customers.
The ViewPhone 3 is encased in black leather finish soft touch texture back cover that gives it a distinctive classic look. Powering it is an 800 MHz processor and the ViewPhone 3 supports browsing with the HSDPA protocol at 7.2Mbps over the GSM network. It features 512 MB of RAM and ROM, while the microSD card supports up to 32GB expandable memory.
ViewScene 3D technology comes embedded with the phone and it has an interactive interface with animated graphics. Simple finger glide delivers menu rotation and quick selection of functions, such as Contacts, Calendar, Time, Pictures, Travel, and many others. ViewScene 3D also keeps you up to date with a Contacts feature automatically displaying birthdays and other notifications, while the Travel page shows the time and date, around the globe.
With SRS TruMedia surround sound, the ViewPhone 3 aims to deliver a rich audio experience. It sports a 5 megapixel rear autofocus camera, along with a couple of advanced connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR support and built-in GPS/AGPS.
