Facebook launches more Open Graph applications

| by Padmini Harchandrai | Social Networking

Facebook first launched apps on its Open Graph, back in September. The three apps that it launched were "read", "watch" and "listen". These apps allow developers to report back to Facebook what users might read, watch and/or listen. It's the same system that posts to Facebook when someone has listened to a song on Facebook using Spotify or read a Wall Street Journal article through Facebook. Now, according to All Things D, as more and more users get Timeline, more and more apps will be available on the Open Graph. The idea is to include more interests that users can share chronologically.

Apps that can be expected to use Open Graph and post on user Timelines are travel apps like TripAdvisor, ticket booking apps like StubHub, Eventbrite and even Ticketmaster, and food apps like Foodspotting. Other apps they've added (as mentioned on their blog), include Rotten Tomatoes, Pinterest and more. They said that soon there will be new apps for every type of interest, including snowboarding, knitting or gardening.
