Google+ now has 90 million users, according to an announcement made by CEO Larry Page. PCMag reports that Page even announced that engagement on the social network has increased, with more than 60 percent of users access Google+ daily and 80 percent do so weekly. Page said that it is important for Google to make their product different from others by understanding people. Google+ has added virtually as many features to the social network as the number of days it has been released.

Growing and engaging

Page did not comment on how many users will be on Google+, a year from now, but he's said they can expect tremendous growth with the number of daily signups that currently happen. Google+ also faced some opposition lately to its "Search Your World" update. The update allowed users to receive personalized social results, which created opposition because it meant Google would have been favouring search results from its own service rather than competitors. Page still commented that Google plans to add more social data in searches, despite the opposition.

Page also announced that the growth of Android is 'mind-boggling'. He said that there are now 250 million Android devices out there 'in the wild', up from 200 million in November. He said that more than 700,000 Android devices are activated everyday and on the 24th and 25th of December, there were 3.7 million activations. Users have also downloaded more than 11 billion apps from the App Market. Page said that they're in the very early stages of monetizing their newer products and Android is one of those products. Meanwhile, the EU will rule on the Motorola Mobility purchase by the 13th of February and Page said that Motorola will remain a seperate entity, and will bid for Android devices once the deal is done.
