For a nation that takes cricket, as seriously as their religion, and celebrates their victories with more finery than their festivals, this one's big! The Men in Blue, as they're fondly referred to as have joined the popular social networking platform, Google+ and yesterday at 2:30 PM IST, Virendra Sehwag - India's double century man joined in to thank his fans "for their overwhelming support and wishes on his glorious double century". Viru had earlier posted a video, too on his Google+ profile, confirms an official blog post. The double-century man! (Image credit: outlookindia.com)
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian captain, along with Virendra Sehwag have now resorted to Google+ to stay connected with scores of their fans, across the country. Reportedly, Dhoni also shared his circle of cricketers on Google+ with his fans, allowing fans to stay connected with the team, this way.
Among those from the team, who're on Google+ are: Harbhajan, Ishant Sharma, Sreesanth, Murali Kartik, Amit Mishra, Manoj Tiwary, Umesh Yadav, Iqbal Abdullah, Sudeep Tyagi, Ashoke Dinda, Varun Aaron, Sarbjeet Ladda and R.P Singh. If you haven't noticed, the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar is yet to make his profile on Google+, and considering his massive fan base, not only in India, but abroad, too - this one should be coming soon!
The team's hard at work now, bracing themselves for their Australian tour, which commences on the 26th December, this year. What better way to wish them all the luck, than through Google+? |
