Now control privacy over each old profile photo on Facebook

| by tech2 News Staff | Social Networking

Facebook users can now change the privacy permissions for each of their old profile pictures, thereby having more control over the visibility of the photos. However, the current profile picture and the Cover Photo still remain open to public view. The ability to change the privacy settings of each photo in an album is currently limited to Profile Photos and Mobile Uploads. For the rest of the albums, Facebook only allows users to set a single privacy setting for all photos.

Change in photo permissions

Facebook has got quite picturesque today, with a revamped Photos section that promises a better photo-viewing experience. You'll notice that you have the option of highlighting images within the Photos section and in Albums too. When users hover over any album, they see the images within show up over the thumbnail of the album. The layout of the Photos section has been redesigned, complete with larger icons.

Early in June this year, Facebook rolled out similar redesign across the web interface for its mobile news feed. Photos in the news feed appeared twice as large as earlier, and the photos within an album showed up in the news feed as one large thumbnail at the top of the update, and three smaller ones at the bottom. With this, the news feed looked more picturesque and vivid. Also, the redesign made the text in the news feed appear larger and spaced out.

Recently, Facebook introduced some changes to its mobile news feed by bringing in larger thumbnails, and fullscreen photos on mobile devices.
