Pepsi Introduces a Social Vending Machine

If you think that Twitter and Facebook are now passé and no longer the cool thing, Pepsi has just the thing for you. It has just introduced a new vending machine, which allows you to send a beverage gift to your friends.

The Freestyle vending machine which allows you to pick over a hundred different flavours, also allows you to give your friend a gift by entering his or her name, contact number and personalized text message or video. Once that is done, the gift is delivered to your friend along with instructions on how to redeem the gift at other such vending machines.

But if you are feeling generous, the vending machine also allows to gift a beverage to random strangers. Pepsi added, “The system also allows random acts of refreshment or the ability to buy a drink for a stranger, in situations such as sending a symbol of encouragement to a city that's experienced some challenging weather or a congratulatory beverage to a university that just won a championship”.
