When Facebook and Spotify joined hands, it did seem to be a win-win situation for both the parties involved – Facebook had a new, interesting feature added for the entertainment of its 750 million user base and Spotify users could share their playlists on Facebook, swelling up its user base. However, the users soon realized that their music preferences were not private to them. In the sense that, the playlist(s), which the users created got invariably shared on their Facebook pages, giving anyone and everyone a peek into their choice of music, which is not something everybody prefers. Spotify did receive a lot of flak from its users, and now they've come up with a fix for this. Now, get onto your private mode
Now, all Spotify users on Facebook will have an option to get into the 'private listening' mode. According to a PCMag report, the private listening mode will enable users to temporarily hide their playlists, by just moving their default settings, a little. The 'private listening' option can be found in the File menu on Spotify, and the user can toggle it on or off, as per his or her requirement. A control over their sharing option would give users the liberty to share the playlists they want to, and hide the rest. |
