Adesso Systems' instant social networking application, Tubes, is now accessible to Apple Mac users running Parallels Desktop for Mac. This is the first solution that lets Mac users run Windows and OS X simultaneously, without rebooting. By including full support for Parallels Desktop for Mac, Tubes now enables Mac users to create, connect and share via Tubes as easily as Windows users. Tubes uses Parallels' new Coherence feature, which allows Windows applications to run directly on the Mac desktop like native Mac applications. This enables the drag and drop distribution of both Mac and Windows media, documents and files via Tubes, regardless of which environment—Windows or Mac—the user is currently working with. "We applaud the Tubes team for being among the first companies to extend their reach to Mac users by enabling full compatibility with Parallels Desktop for Mac and Parallels new Coherence feature," says Benjamin Rudolph, director of corporate communications, Parallels. "We anticipate a groundswell of innovative software companies with important new technologies to follow Adesso and Tubes on this path to broader market acceptance." "We are committed to bringing our entire Tubes platform to the Mac and this was a logical first step to demonstrate our dedication to the Apple community," said Steve Chazin, vice president of marketing. "Not many small companies take the time to qualify a Windows product on the Mac, but we felt it was important to begin here. We're happy to support this configuration so Mac users can now take advantage of our simple yet powerful social sharing application. We love the Mac (it's the only computer I use) and this is just the beginning of our burgeoning Mac story as we work to increase Tubes' functionality and expand our base of users." This version is now supported on all Intel-based Macs running Parallels Desktop for Mac. |
