CES 2012: Bob Marley inspired eco-friendly audio

House of Marley, the reggae brand inspired by Bob Marley has made its debut at CES, showcasing a variety of audio equipment made from enviromentally friendly and sustainable materials like Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved wood, hemp and canvas. The company released 52 styles of headphones, last year according to Digital Trends and showcased three docks at CES.
The most expensive product showcased at CES is what they've named the One Foundation AirPlay system which sells for $599.99 (approx Rs.31,341) and will be available in the summer of this year. The system is designed for environmentally conscious music listeners. It features an Airplay system and is made from FSC-certified wood. Their booth also featured the Get Up Stand Up docking station, made from a curved solid piece of FSC-certified wood. The dock can be hooked up to the iPad, the iPhone and the iPod Touch. It comes with two aux-in connections and has two 4.5-inch drivers, long-throw woofer and two 1-inch dome tweeters. They also had the Bag of Rhythm dock, which allows you to take your music with you on the go. The system is made from FSC-certified wood and comes in a bag made of cotton. It comes with an iDevice docking station, two 4.5-inch drivers, long-throw woofer and two 1-inch dome tweeters. Five percent of annual profits from the House of Marley devices go to charity. Rohan Marley, son of Bob Marley said on behalf of the Marley Family. “We want to give people new ways to experience the sounds of their favorite songs, while giving back to the people and the planet through our non-profit organization, 1Love.org." 1Love.org provides funding to charities and causes focused on youth, planet and peace. |
