Adam Tablet Amidst Delays

| by Anuradha Shetty | Tablets

If you've been among the ones waiting for Notion Ink's Adam tablet, and have been left unanswered post its delay, then we have an update.

The wait just got longer!

The wait just got longer!

The Bangalore based company, Notion Ink has come out pretty unclear on the delay of the shipments of the latest entrant in the tablet space, called Adam tablet. Pre-orders of the same were delayed, too. Speculations state certification of the devices to be a worrying issue and the probable cause of the delay. According to a report in TOI, unstable statements were received from both – the Bangalore based company and the certification testing centre (Underwriters Laboratories).

The blame game, however, doesn't stop here. The China based original design manufacturer has been blamed of shrugging away work, thereby leading to the delay of the tablets.

What's the fuss about checking, you ask? Well! The product, before it reaches the stores, needs to undergo a variety of tests (consumer safety, health, environmental standards) to qualify for acceptance seals.

The tablet comes with Bluetooth, GSM, Wi-Fi and 3G and is seen a capable competitor to the iPad. However, with the current sequence of events, in addition to the certification issues have raised several questions.

Till then, all we can do is wait for the newbie to reach us unscathed.
