Amazon's New Kindle Ad Boasts of Substituting a Book

24 Feb, 2011, 6:18 pm IST | by Ashish Koshy | Tablets

Let’s take a break from all these tablets. We’ve been seeing too many of them anyway. Instead, here’s something interesting for you, Amazon’s Kindle which features in a new advertisement. Now the Kindle might resemble a tablet, but – as many of you know, it’s an e-book reader.

Your new book!

Your new book!

The advertisement shows the different features of the Kindle, right from a “glare-free screen” to “over 800,000 books”. The good part is, they don’t take direct jabs at any particular tablet as such, but rather go on to talk about more features like a “month-long battery life” and “readable in sunlight”. Apart from attractive youngsters, what looks cool is the tagline with which the advertisement ends. It reads “The book lives on”, which possibly hints at how reading might shape up in the future. Check out the video below.

While the Kindle hasn’t seen much of India, I’m sure we all definitely would like to have a go at Amazon’s e-book reader even it comes for $139 (approx Rs. 6,500)!
