Two days back, we heard that NVIDIA CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang was not too pleased about the progress of Android tablets because of their exorbitant pricing as compared to its competition. He has now been heard saying that Android tablets are set to beat the iPad in 30 months time. Jen-Hsun was speaking at the Reuters Technology Summit being held in New York. NVIDIA's Tegra 2 is powering many of the upcoming tablets
He believes that with increase in the number of apps, the popular tablet is going to be beaten just like the iPhone was. The rate of development that took place on the Android mobile platform in two and half years was pretty impressive and the same should be possible by the Honeycomb tablets in a similar period of time. He also said that the first Honeycomb version 3.0, had some drawbacks but those were being worked on and Honeycomb 3.1 was shaping up to be an impressive platform. NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 platform is being used by many tablet manufacturers and there are rumours that Amazon might be using NVIDIA’s hardware on their upcoming tablets.
