Forrester, a research company has projected Apple’s sales to surpass those of giants HP and IBM by 2012. Apple’s sales are likely to grow above 50 per cent and in all, generate over $200 billion by 2012 at the pace at which they’re going now. The current sales of the iPad and the iPhones are the likely reasons for this kind of growth. This demand is only likely to increase in the upcoming year. HP and IBM saw sales of $126 billion and $99.9 billion respectively last year. iPads and iPhones to propel Apple beyond HP and IBM
George Colony, CEO, Forrester Research said this in an interview to Bloomberg. Apps in his opinion would also play an important role in this growth. He also stated that Google’s strategy of using web sites as such might be in trouble should apps be the way to go. A reason for concern for Apple, he stated, would be if Steve Jobs were to go into a long medical leave in the future. |
