Asus Transformer Prime and PS3 controller – match made in heaven!

If you’re a tech enthusiast or are simply in the market for a tablet right now, forget everything else –the Asus Transformer Prime should be right on the top of your wish list and today we have another very good reason for that. As if being the most powerful tablet in the world wasn’t a reason enough to buy one, Swedish website, Swedroid have managed to get a PS3 DualShock controller working just fine with the Prime. Apparently, you dont need to root the tablet or any other such trickery, simply plug it in via the USB port and it just works!

Meanwhile, Sony just announced the other day that the PS3 controller would be compatible with their Tablet S, but you’ll need to purchase some sort of an adapter in order to get the update and only then will you be able to use it via Bluetooth. Now, Swedroid say that they were able to sync the controller wirelessly as well, but most of the emulators and some games like Riptide GP or Shadowgun didn’t seem to detect it. It’s only a matter of time, though till someone comes along and fixes this. Over a wired connection, it works beautifully with emulators like SuperGNES, N64oid and FPse. This is absolutely fabulous, I mean, playing GTA III on this would be as if you never left your couch at home. If this isn’t the future of mobile gaming, then I don’t know what is. Asus had struck gold with this rendition of a tablet and version two seems to be shaping  up to be even more awesome. Now come on, launch it already!
