Galaxy Note 10.1 may be released at MWC

We’ve heard of the Galaxy Note – the 5.3-inch monster and we’ve heard of the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 750 as well. What do you get when you fuse these two devices together? The Galaxy Note 10.1. As reported by The Verge, the official Samsung website might have spilled the name of their new upcoming product, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, in their invitation to the Samsung Developer Day at MWC this year. Alongside the Bada powered Wave 3, Wave Y and Galaxy Note, the company has fit in a still unheard-of device, the Galaxy Note 10.1.

As can be seen from the image, the exhibition will concentrate mainly on the software development kit for the S pen and the Bada 2.0 SDK. Along with this, the website has also dug up a casting call for an advertisement where the company required a student to use the Galaxy Note 10.1 – to record, take pictures and edit with the genre's education, financial planning and art in mind.

As of now, tablets have still been more of media consumption devices, and as compared to laptops or desktop PCs, they’re quite limited in functionality. But, a 10.1-inch tablet with S pen capabilities does seem to be an interesting device. In our review of the S pen, we did find it to be that tiny bit lagging, but it seemed to be quite an interesting way to take notes. But with a 10.1-inch screen, it’s a completely different thing, altogether. We’re hoping there’s something more to this new device than just a Tab 10.1 with the capability to write with an S pen. We’re guessing this is a pretty genuine rumour and it’s not that they’ve just mistakenly put the word Note where they intended to put the Tab. MWC is just around the corner, so thankfully the wait will not have to be for too long. What do you guys think of an S pen with this form factor, does it have the potential to change the way we’re looking at tablets and usher in a new era? Or is your thought process similar to Steve Jobs’, why need a stylus, when you have 10 styluses right in your hands?
