If you weren’t satisfied with the number of tablets shown off at the recently concluded CES 2011 (we were more than satisfied, believe us!), here’s another one that’s joined the fray. Gigabyte have just unveiled their Windows 7 tablet in their home country of Taiwan. It's raining tablets! The S1080 is a 10.1-inch tablet that runs a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor and packs a whopping 320GB of internal storage. The touchscreen is of the capacitive type and runs at a resolution of 1024x600. Apart from this, the S1080 also features a USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and a built in VGA port. No HDMI port though, strangely. For those craving for a more traditional experience, there are also a couple of mouse buttons and an optical mouse at the back of the device. What’s good about this device is that it’s expected to cost just $300 when it launches. That works out to around Rs. 13,500 and even if importing it to India raises the price just a little bit, that’s still a pretty good bargain. The only thing left to ask now is, is it *cough* ultra-durable *cough*? |
