Google recently updated its Google Earth version which can now be used on Android Honeycomb tablets. Google says that with the recent release on tablets based on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), it wants to take full advantage of the large screens and powerful processors it possesses.

In the official blog post, Google claims that the update to Google Earth for Android makes the Earth look even better on the tablets. With additional support for fully textured 3D buildings, the tour of the globe looks more realistic. Google has also added a new action bar up top, enabling easier access to search, the option to “fly to your location” and layers such as Places, Panoramic photos, Wikipedia and 3D buildings. Other features of the Google earth include pop-ups that appear within the Earth view so that users can see more information without needing to switch back and forth between pages.

The updated version of Google Earth is available for devices with Android 2.1 and above and for tablets with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and above.  This update is available for download by going to m.google.com/earth, it can also be downloaded from the Android Market on user’ Android powered devices.
