The Google I/O developer conference will take place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The report states that sources have informed them that the initial price is to be set at US$199 and will manufactured by Quanta Computer. The article goes on to state, “The 7-inch Nexus tablet PC already started shipping in June and is estimated to be available in the retail channel in July with the device's total shipments expected to reach at least three million units in the second half of the year. With Google expected to unveil the details of the devices at Google I/O, Asustek Chairman Jonney Shih will also attend the conference to jointly announce the tablet PC with Google.”

Commenting on some of the features expected to be included, sources have informed them that the cost of the tablet has been kept to a minimum because it supports only Wi-Fi connectivity and is devoid of a rear camera. However, it will feature a front facing camera that allows one to video chat. The report also states, “The device will also be preloaded with Google's Chrome browser, with compatibility issues having been resolved to allow smoother operation for some software applications. As for Asustek, the company also plans to release its own 7-inch tablet PC with price at only US$159-179 in August.”

The tablet is expected to be called the Google ASUS Nexus 7 and the 7-inch tablet has already been captured in leaked benchmark showing off some of its specifications, which include a display featuring a resolution of 768 x 1280, Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.3GHz Cortex A9 processor and Nvidia ULP GeForce GPU.
