The burgeoning global tablet space will make way for yet another player, this time from HP’s camp, the TouchPad. According to HP, the TouchPad will be made available in the U.S. beginning from July 1. By mid-July, the tablet will be up for grabs in United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany and Canada. Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore will see the TouchPad reach their shores, later this year.

The introductory version will be a Wi-Fi one which would enable users to connect to the internet via the wireless hotspots. The tablet will be made available to users with the options of either 16GB or 32GB worth of internal storage, and the models should cost the users, $499.99 and $599.99, respectively. HP claims to offer superior quality multitasking experience, web access, and audio playback with great finesse, as also the Beats Audio technology. Additionally, the TouchPad will also feature the Touch to Share feature, which would enable users to share web addresses between HP TouchPad and compatible webOS phones.

The TouchPad is being increasingly viewed as an able contender to the competition Apple has been providing via its iPad, and the subsequent iPad2.
