HTC Flyer will run Android 2.4, Spotted on Amazon Germany

We told you a couple of days ago about HTC launching their first tablet, the Flyer. While the specs look all well and good, what really caught our eye was the fact that it was announced to be running on Google’s Android Operating System version 2.4 (rumoured to be named Ice Cream Sandwich).

The Flyer is skipping Gingerbread and is on a direct flight to Ice Cream Sandwich

That gives quite a bit of credence to the theory that Honeycomb is a dual-core exclusive operating system, because the Flyer, which is powered by a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor will be running the smartphone version of the OS. It very well might have been HTC’s decision too, because they’re putting the HTC Sense UI on this tablet, and they probably would’ve liked to work on something they have some experience with, which in this case is a smartphone OS.

Anyway, the Flyer has been spotted on the Amazon Germany website. The price quoted is €669 (around Rs. 41,000) which is kinda expensive for the features on offer.

Danke Engadget.
