Huawei announces MediaPad 10 FHD, MediaPad 7 Lite tablets for select markets

Huawei yesterday announced that its10-inch Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD and 7-inch Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite tablets would be launched in select markets from September, with other markets to follow. Both tablets will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD is now available in China and will begin shipping to Germany, Sweden, Russia, Belarus, Korea, Bahrain and Kuwait in September, with other markets to follow. The MediaPad 7 Lite will start shipping to South Africa, China, Russia, Philippines and Taiwan from end-August; Indonesia and Malaysia from September.

The Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD as a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 high-definition IPS display screen with a 16:10 golden ratio. It features an 8 megapixel autofocus rear-facing camera that can record 1080P HD videos and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The MediaPad 10 FHD is powered by a K3v2 Cortex-A9 1.4GHz quad-core processor and a 16-core GPU. The MediaPad 10 FHD LTE version supports the world’s fastest mobile wireless data connection at up to 150 Mbps LTE (compatible with 84 Mbps HSPA+), in addition to Wi-Fi and 3G versions. As per a press communique, Its 6600 mAh battery provides more than 10 hours of continuous usage time. For connectivity, the tablet supports dockable keyboards, has VGA and HDMI output and supports Ethernet access via a USB adapter cable. It also boasts of 5.1 Dolby surround sound support. The tablet is housed in an aluminium-alloy body and measures 8.8 mm thick and weighs 580g.

Housed in a metal unibody shell, the comparatively lower-specced MediaPad 7 Lite is powered by a Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor and has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 IPS multi-touch 1080p high-definition display and 3G cellular voice function. It is compatible with nearly all multimedia formats and also features a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
