The Auxus AX03G builds up on the success of the Auxus AX02 and as budget tablets have started flooding the market, this latest one aims to beat the competition with its spec sheet. The Auxus AX03G is powered by a 1.0 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor with a Dual Mali-400 OpenGL 2.0 GPU and a dedicated Full HD Video processing VPU. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and has 1GB of RAM and an internal 8GB NAND Flash. The device also supports an external 16GB microSD card slot. The display is a 7-inch capacitive multitouch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Connectivity options, include inbuilt Inbuilt SIM slot, GSM (2G/3G) 900/1800/2100MHz with Phone Function, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth. The tablet comes with mini HDMI v1.3 and supports full HD 1080p videos. There’s a 2MP camera at the back and a front 0.3 mp camera for video calling. Sensors include accelerometer, gravity and motion sensor. Other features include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers, mini USB port and built-in microphone. Under the hood is a Li-poly 4000 mAh battery.

A spokesperson for the company mentioned that, “We are sure this product would create a big market impact in the budget Tablet category and we are proud to be part of the process of setting a new benchmark in the tablet market. The launch and its subsequent delivery of Tablets in the market will happen in the 1st week of July. By then, the price of Auxus AX02 will be dropped to Rs.7990/-"
Now for the important part, the Auxus AX03G is priced at Rs. 9,990. The first look, full specifications, exact launch date, pre-order plans of the tablet are going to be announced soon. Looking at the price tag, it’s worth mentioning that the Nexus 7 is coming soon. This tablet will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, running at 1.3GHz that packs in a quad-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. The SoC will also be accompanied by 1GB of RAM and two different storage options – 8GB and 16GB. This will also be the first stock Android tablet to feature NFC support, so you can use features like Android Beam and Google Wallet.
The screen will feature an IPS panel with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and will also have a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. There’s no mention of a rear camera, which means Google has skipped it, in order to save on the cost. They also haven’t talked about the battery capacity, but say that it should last you about 9 hrs. Coming to pricing, the 8GB model will cost around $199, while the 16GB model will cost you $249. Yes, the important bit out here is the pricing. If Google’s tablets come to Indian shores at a price tag of Rs. 11K (including taxes) or so, then we can safely bet that they will beat the entire bunch of low-budget tablets that have been launched so far. |

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the only new 10.1-inch Android tablet to launch this year. And with no one to contend against, it is commanding a substantial premium in the market. This is not any run-of-the-mill tablet, though. The care and polish delivered by Sony is simply brilliant as we’ll see in a bit.
