Datawind had then stated that the 'military'-like specifications drawn up by IIT-Jodhpur were more suited for a rugged product, and Aakash was not one. The military specifications included test criterias for the tablet, among which was a water resistance test, in which the tablet would be placed in a rain chamber with rain supply at a rate of no less than 4 inches per hour.
