Karbonn Smart Tab 1 to get Jelly Bean in September

Karbonn's Smart Tab 1 tablet will receive the Jelly Bean flavour next month. The MobileIndian now reports that the latest OS upgrade to the Karbonn Smart Tab 1 is set to come in the first week of September, making it the first device in India to get the latest version of the Android OS Jelly Bean. Quoting a company spokesperson, the report adds, "The Jelly Bean update for the existing Smart Tab 1 users will be available in the first week of September. Users will be able to update their tablet over the air (no need to connect to PC), shortly after the updated tablet starts shipping to the users". ![]() Karbonn SmartTab 1 to get Jelly Bean next month
The Karbonn Smart Tab 1 runs on the MIPS-based X-Burst processor. The Tab 1 shipped with Android v4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The tablet has a 17.8 cm capacitive five-point touchscreen powered by a 3700mAh battery. Featuring a gravity sensor, Wi-Fi and 3G support through USB dongle, Karbonn Smart Tab 1 comes with a 2MP front camera, along with pre-embedded applications such as Karbonn Smart Browser and Karbonn Smart games. An upgrade to Android v4.1 will be available to customers who purchased the earlier version of this tablet.

We intend to be the leading marketer in the Indian tablet market, wherein we wish to reach up to 200 thousand units per month by focusing on enterprise business solutions, segmentation, education, healthcare, hospitality and next-generation business verticals".
The Karbonn Smart Tab 1 is now available in India for Rs. 6,999 (approximately US $125). The tablet is available via the Karbonn website, as well as numerous online portals and retail outlets in India such as Reliance Digital and Walmart. |
