Lenovo launches A2107 portable tablet in India

Lenovo today launched its A2107 tablet in India. The tablet is powered by Android 4.0 (ICS) OS. The portable device makes for an ideal device for content consumption and creation on-the-go with equal emphasis on style and performance, claims Lenovo. 

 

The company statement elaborates that the tablet comes with ample of preloaded apps, thereby bringing reading, social networking, daily life, work and entertainment simpler and available at fingertips. It comes with 10 second GPS. The matte cover on the Lenovo A2107 tablet is soft to the touch with a light grip and doesn’t slip out of your hand. The tablet weighs approx 0.4 kgs (0.9 lbs). The specifications of the Lenovo A2107 include an 8-hour battery life and an internal roll cage to protect against damage if dropped.

The Lenovo tablet boasts of a rich HD video with 720p playback and bright 350 nits HD display for easy viewing even when outside. The Lenovo A2107 tablet comes with dual-stereo speakers Users can access thousands of apps via Google Play.

 

It comes with Lenovo Mondrian user interface, which the company stresses, provides for simpler, clearer versions of frequently used apps. The Lenovo A2107 tablet is available at all Lenovo exclusive stores, multi-brand outlets and large format retail stores at Rs 14,000 (taxes extra). 

 

A report by Gartner, released in November last year, revealed that Lenovo retained the No.1 position in the third quarter of 2012. HP’s PC shipment increased 10 percent, while that of Dell fell 22 percent, compared to the third quarter of 2011. Multinational brands contributed to more than half of the total PC shipments in the first quarter of 2012, with shipments from Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo representing 60.6 percent of the market. Local vendor HCL’s PC market share dropped to 3.4 percent in the third quarter of 2012, as it experienced a 43 percent year-on-year decline from the third quarter of 2011.

 

Gartner found that the top four multinational brands – Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo contributed 56 percent to the market. HCL posted a flat growth of 0.2 percent in the quarter. Its market share dropped to 5.6 percent in the second quarter of 2012.
