Motorola XOOM, XOOM Wi-Fi Get Android v3.1 Update in India

The XOOM made a sparkling entry into India, officially, some time last month. Now, official bytes from Motorola state that Android for Motorola XOOM and Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi just got updated to v3.1 from an earlier v3.0, for its users in India. Confirmed by Motorola, the over the air update would reach the existing consumers today. Motorola claims that the update is very timely, and would help bring out the best in the existing features of the Motorola XOOM. Better XOOM?
On receiving a notification for the update for the over-the-air upgradation, users can pick between immediate download options, or push it for a later date. The 40MB update can be availed manually, by going to Settings > About Tablet > System Updates. Among the first features that the users would enjoy, according to Motorola, include the ability to expand the memory limits to 64GB, owing to the activation of the SD slot that the over the air update brings. Motorola claims that users can have a better multi-tasking experience, giving out visual access to a wide range of applications.

Currently, the update will be doled out to users in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. The Wi-Fi version of the Motorola XOOM will be available to users for an MRP of Rs. 34,490 and the 3G version has an MRP of Rs. 41,490. |
