Gizmodo Australia has managed to ‘stumble upon’ a training document that outlines the specifications of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet as well as possible pricing details. It appears that the previous rumours about the tablet were true, the Nexus 7 will indeed be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, running at 1.3GHz that packs in a quad-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. The SoC will also be accompanied by 1GB of RAM and two different storage options – 8GB and 16GB. This will also be the first stock Android tablet to feature NFC support, so you can use features like Android Beam and Google Wallet. The screen will feature an IPS panel with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and will also have a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. There’s no mention of a rear camera, which means Google has skipped it, in order to save on the cost. They also haven’t talked about the battery capacity, but say that it should last you about 9 hrs. Coming to pricing, the 8GB model will cost around $199, while the 16GB model will cost you $249. By the time the tablet actually hits our shores, the price could go up a bit, hopefully not by too much. Google I/O is not too far away, so we should know more soon. ![]() Is this the real deal?

6.5
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the only new 10.1-inch Android tablet to launch this year. And with no one to contend against, it is commanding a substantial premium in the market. This is not any run-of-the-mill tablet, though. The care and polish delivered by Sony is simply brilliant as we’ll see in a bit.
