Reliance Infotel to Bring Out a Rs. 8,000 tablet?

27 Dec, 2010, 4:22 pm IST | by Ashish Koshy | Tablets

Reliance Communication recently rolled out 3G services in India and 'brother-concern' company Reliance Infotel might be all set to exploit 3G services by coming out with their own tablet which, according to rumours, will be priced at Rs. 8,000.

In comparison to other tablets like the Galaxy Tab, or even a mid-range tablet like the Olivepad, this could just be the cheapest tablet out there. Reliance, it seems, has already decided that these tablets will be 3G-ready and it's likely that plans to launch the tablet will be announced in the first quarter of 2011.

ReliancePad?

There is no news on the specs of the tablet for now but the higher-end versions could be running on Android while others will be using Java-based operating systems.

Many Indians don’t buy tablets because of their price. If Reliance does come out with a low-priced tablet, they might just change all that. Stay tuned for more tablet-related stories.
