It is official now that Samsung has begun sending out the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update to Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablets. As per Android Authority, the update isn’t going to be over-the-air (OTA). Hence, users will have to download Samsung’s Kies PC software, connect the tablet to a Windows-running desktop or laptop and look for the Android 4.0 install package. That being said, reports suggest that not all Galaxy Tab 7.7 models will be upgradeable to ICS currently. Only users in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the UK having a GT-P6800 tablet will be able to flash the new software package at this time. The report adds further, “However, as several people over on XDA-Developers’ forum are stating, the update actually works on Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablets purchased from other countries as well, so you might want to give it a try even if you live in other parts of Europe. Then again, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 GT-P6810 is itself on Samsung’s official updating list and will probably get its own scoop of ICS in only a few days, so why risk it after all?” ![]() Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 gets ICS
Samsung Galaxy 7.7 tablets are powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor and run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb platform. The tablet, as obvious from its name, sports a 7.7-inch display and features a metal design, weighing 340 gm. The tablet sports a 3MP auto-focus back camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera.
A couple of days ago, we had reported about Samsung finally starting to roll out Ice Cream Sandwich for those tablets that were eligible to get Android 4.0 upgrade. The company had earlier mentioned that its tablets were scheduled to receive ICS in July or August. So it is definitely good news that Samsung is fulfilling its promise.
The complete list of tablets that will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich:

The Galaxy Tab 2 (310) features a 7-inch wide WSVGA PLS TFT display with a resolution of 600 x 1024pixels. The device also sports a 3MP rear camera with a VGA-type front camera. Equipped with 1GB RAM and a 1GHz dual-core processor the Galaxy Tab 2 is light, weighing 345g, and is highly portable.
