Samsung is working on a tablet with retina display, codenamed "P10", it was revealed in the latest court documents filed by the Korean giant in the Apple vs Samsung trial that kicked off in California yesterday. The tablet will feature LTE connectivity and an 11.8-inch display at 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA) resolution and 16:10 screen ratio. ![]() Samsung 11.8-inch tablet leaked
Whether it's the Samsung Galaxy Tab 11.8 tab, we can't say for sure. But, the specifications mentioned in the document make it clear that it's going to be an 11.8-inch tablet with retina display with a pixel density of 256 ppi and LTE connectivity. ![]() Samsung 11.8-inch tablet leaked
The ongoing Apple vs Samsung trial has become an event that gives us a sneak peek at the upcoming products of these two companies, even before there is any official word on it. Apart from the 11.8-inch tablet, the court documents also revealed Samsung's love for Windows Phone 8 as reported here earlier. The documents reveal two Windows Phone 8-based phones codenamed Marco and Odyssey. Reportedly, these phones are expected to release in the fourth quarter. The new phones are said to feature powerful specs such as Dual Core Qualcomm processors and support for LTE. It has been reported that the Odyssey comes with a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display along with an 8 megapixel rear camera. On the other hand, the Marco will come embedded with a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and an 5-megapixel camera. Though Samsung has not commented on this yet, we can assume it to be true as the documents may have ‘accidently’ slipped through with the court documents.
Whatever the case may be with Samsung and its leaked court documents, but it's a good news for Samsung fans. An 11.8-inch tablet is a good upgrade over the Galaxy Note 10.1. A slightly bigger version, no doubt, but the screen resolution is sure to pamper the fans. Also, the tab will give Samsung an edge over its competitors by lifting its line-up of product a notch or two higher. And if the Windows Phone 8 stuff also has substance in it, then it spells total success for Samsung in the times ahead. Nokia has already made official its plan of launching two new Windows Phone 8 based devices, so it makes complete sense for Samsung if its preparing for a Windows Phone 8 device too. |
