Word is, Google will announce a second-generation Nexus 7 tablet with an HD screen at the annual Google I/O in May. According to rumours, the tablet will once again be manufactured by Asus. The resolution is rumoured to go up from the present 1280 x 800 pixels to a super dense, but strange 1728 x 1080 pixels, or the more conventional 1920 x 1080. The new tablet is also touted to sport a different design with a thinner bezel, a la the iPad mini, and is also likely to be lighter than the 340gm first-generation model. Software-wise, the new Nexus 7 will ship with Jelly Bean. This could change by the time Google I/O comes around, when the device is expected to be unveiled. ![]() The next-gen Nexus 7 will also be manufactured by Asus

Sony Xperia Tablet Z (SGP321) Review

6.5
The Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the only new 10.1-inch Android tablet to launch this year. And with no one to contend against, it is commanding a substantial premium in the market. This is not any run-of-the-mill tablet, though. The care and polish delivered by Sony is simply brilliant as we’ll see in a bit.
