Foxit Corporation, maker of the rather popular Foxit Reader, has announced that the default PDF reader on the HTC Flyer tablet is powered by the company’s PDF technology.

Here are the key features of the HTC Flyer PDF Viewer:

  • Text Selection and Highlighting: Allows users to easily select and highlight text with their magic pen.
  • Sketch Layer: After annotation or highlighting, users can opt to save their additions in a separate layer or incorporate them into their final PDF in one, flat layer.
  • Annotation: Utilizing the magic pen, any PDF document can be instantly annotated.
  • Full-featured, high-quality rendering: Transparency, smooth shadings, dash patterns, embedded fonts, and more provide maximum document fidelity.

"Leading-edge companies such as HTC continue to affirm that Foxit PDF technology is the industry’s most innovative approach to offering a lightweight, platform-independent PDF solution to customers," said Frank Kettenstock, VP of marketing for Foxit Corporation. "Foxit's technology provides a fast, accurate, reliable, lightweight, and secure PDF solution, making it the first choice for PDF features and functionalities in tablet solutions such as HTC’s Flyer."

We’ve seen that the Flyer can do some pretty cool stuff thanks to the HTC Scribe technology, and extending that onto PDFs can only be a good thing.
