Electronics brand, ViewSonic has announced the launch of its new 7-inch tablet, the ViewSonic ViewPad 7E in India. Let's get started with the specs. Firstly, it’s got an ARM A8 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and runs on Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It has a shatter-proof glass and comes with rubberized exterior for better grip and ergonomics. The tablet is available in white and has a 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes it different in the form factor from the other 16:9 aspect ratio, 7-inch tablets we’ve seen in the recent past. The tablet has a VGA front camera as well as a 3 megapixel rear camera.

Connectivity options, include HDMI, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot and a micro-USB connector. The 1GHz processor fully supports playback for 1080p videos and the 7E comes with 4 gigs of internal memory. The microSD card slot allows memory expansion to 32 gigs. At the launch of the ViewPad 7E,  Ajay Sharma, country manager, ViewSonic India mentioned that, "ViewPad 7e delivers a powerful entertainment experience at an affordable price. It's the newest addition to our ViewPad tablet series, which are equipped with the latest high-performance technologies." Misc. features include the Swype keyboard and their new ViewScene 3D interface that lets you customize your own Android experience.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7E will be available across all leading Electronic stores post 9th February and it will be priced at Rs.13,000. With this price tag, it neatly fits itself in the midst of a whole plethora of 7-inch tablets. We’ve got a range of them from local as well as the international market, but none have really been that impressive. We’ll have to wait and watch if the ViewPad 7E can change that trend.

What do you guys think about the new ViewSonic ViewPad? 13K and a 7-inch form factor with a 1 GHz processor makes it worthy enough to be your next/ first Android tablet? Let us know in the comments section below.
