WickedLeak announces Jellybean tablets Wammy Desire, Wammy Athena

WickedLeak Inc will soon expand its tablet line-up by introducing two tablets - a 7-inch tablet called Wammy Desire, and 9.7-inch one called Wammy Athena. The devices are priced at Rs 6,499 and Rs 13,999 respectively. Both devices run on Google’s Latest Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. The tablets are currently available for pre-booking at WickedLeak's website. Delivery is slated to commence from October 14, 2012.

The Wammy Desire is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, possesses 1GB DDR3 of RAM and support for 3G via dongle. The tablet runs on the latest Android v4.1 JellyBean OS. The Wammy Desire also features a Li-on 3,000mAh battery, and comes pre-loaded with Super 3D Games: Hero Of Sparta, Nova, Gun Bros and, Spiderman.

  • 8GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD

The Wammy Athena is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. Like the Desire, it has 1GB DDR3 of RAM on board, support for 3G connectivity by using a dongle, runs on Android v4.1 (JellyBean) OS. The Wammy Athena is powered by a Li-on 8,000mAh battery.

  • 16GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD
  • HDMI port


The announcement of these two budget tablets comes in a wave of quick succession after the launches of Wammy Ethos, Wammy 7, Wammy Plus, and the Android smartphone Wammy Note.

A WickedLeak spokeperson said, "Our product range is modelled on a combination of customer demand & feedback coupled with the latest cutting edge Android technology available worldwide".  

Back in July, WickedLeak had launched its budget Android tablet, the WickedLeak Wammy Ethos. The 7-inch tablet supports 800 x 480p resolution and also features Bluetooth and tethering. Tipping the scales at just 450 grams, the tablet’s light build should allow convenient portability. It operates on a 1.2GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory. The memory is extendable up to 32GB via microSD card. It also features a Mini USB port. The tablet houses a powerful 3,500mAh battery. Apart from Wi-Fi and 3G options, the tablet features voice calling and SMS. The show is run by the Android ICS OS, while there are a host of preloaded apps such as Facebook and Skype. The tablet also supports navigation apps such as Google Maps.
