Reliance World is mobilizing talent from across 1100 schools in the country through the National Digital Elocution Competition (NDEC 2009). The National Digital Elocution Competition (NDEC), currently in its fourth year, is an annual creative talent hunt to promote creativity amongst school children. Reliance World is leveraging the online medium and its technological back-end to mobilize school talent in smaller towns and cities, where students are constrained due to unavailability of adequate resources or finances to participate in talent hunt programs at the national level. Reliance World ensures that talented school students from towns and cities like Dharwaad, Hubli, Mysore, Mangalore, Shimoga, Davangere, Gulbarga, Belgaum, Raipur, Amravati, Sanghli, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar, Howrah, Guntur, Rajamudhry, Salem, Thanjavur, Palghat etc., besides major towns and cities can participate in NDEC 2009 by submitting their video entries online at the nearest Reliance World outlet. At NDEC 2009, school students are encouraged to use interactive platforms like VDO Contest and Video Conferencing to showcase their talents across boundaries. Sunil Buch, Head – Marketing and Corporate Sales, Reliance World said, "The biggest USP of this national talent hunt is that it allows students across the country to participate irrespective of their location, thus providing a level playing field to compete. The digital platform of this contest offers great width and engagement levels not only to students but parents and teachers as well." NDEC 2009 is open to students of Class V to X with Class V to VII forming the Junior Group and Class VIII to X forming the Senior group. The topics for this year's contest are "If I were a PC" for the Junior group and "Staying safe on the Internet... my online playground" for the Senior Group. Students can visit any Reliance World outlet and complete the registration process. All submissions should be made in English and should not exceed 2 minutes. The last date to submit entries is January 20, 2009. Microsoft has partnered with Reliance for NDEC 2009, so all entries will be open for online voting on msnindia.com throughout the month of January. Reliance World will announce the 26 Semi Finalists (13 in each group) in the first week of February. The National Semi-finals will be held on February 9 where 10 finalists (5 in each group) will be selected. The Finals of the event will be held in February 2009. The semifinals and finals will be held using Video Conferencing at Reliance World in the cities the qualifying students belong to. |
