Kingston yesterday launched the second generation of its popular DataTraveler Locker+ secure USB Flash drives. The new DataTraveler Locker+ G2 works interchangeably between Mac OS X and Windows systems. All the data on the flash drive is secured with hardware-based encryption. The DataTraveler Locker+ G2 is available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB variants. Compatible with USB 3.0, the drive features 5MB/s write and 10MB/s read speeds. It is backed by a five-year warranty and free technical support. The pricing for the DataTravler Locker+ G2 is yet to be announced.
Users simply setup a password upon the first use for access and the drive is ready for use with no extra software or partitions needed. The DataTraveler Locker+ G2 also features a password manager that allows users to store names and passwords for up to 20 accounts. “Data security for consumers is simple and affordable with the new DataTraveler Locker+ G2. The data encryption makes this the perfect USB drive to keep your information safe and out of strangers’ hands in case it ever gets lost," said Nathan Su, Flash Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston. "Users can take their data between Mac and PC systems with ease, and also safely store login information to websites with the included password manager.”
Kingston is very well known for its range of memory solutions. Some of the available products by Kingston include flashdrives, solid state drives, memory cards, etc. Their more recent releases includes the HyperX 3K SSD which is a high performance, budget SSD that allows users to experience ultra-responsive gaming, multitasking, and multimedia computing.
Another one of Kingston's recent releases is the DataTraveler Elite 3.0 USB 3.0 flashdrive. At the announcement of the DataTraveller Elite 3.0, Andrew Ewing, Flash memory business manager, Kingston, said. “As consumers store and carry more HD video, digital artwork, music and presentations, faster devices are required to keep pace with one's digital lifestyle. With more PCs shipping with USB 3.0 ports, the new DataTraveler Elite adds to Kingston's USB 3.0 family and is the perfect solution for those who require faster transfer speeds without breaking the budget.”
The brand claims that the DataTraveller Elite 3.0 helps consumers save time. They go on to explain by saying that in internal testing, the DataTraveller Elite 3.0 was approximately two times faster than a standard USB 2.0 Flash drive copying over 22GB worth of data. The testing was done with a single Blu-ray movie, over 10,000 photos and more than 4,000 songs. |
