Acer has introduced the Aspire 5101ANWLMi, a value laptop priced at Rs. 31,499. It features AMD's 64-bit Turion processor running at 2 GHz and comes with a 60 GB hard disk drive.

It also features a 15.4 inch CrystalBrite Screen, a DVD writer, 512 MB of DDR2 RAM, integrated 802.11b/g Wireless LAN, three USB ports, a 5-in-1 card reader and comes with the Linux operating system.

To top it up Acer is offering gifts worth Rs. 3000 as a new year special if the laptop is purchased before the 31st of December. The price tag of Rs. 31,499 is excluding taxes and the carry bag, which cost an additional 2500 Rupees.

Acer has hit a home run with this one and this option is definitely better than the Celeron based laptops doing the rounds.
