While the rest of the world adopts the QWERTY or AZERTY layout for mobile phone keypads, lava mobiles has decided to steer clear of the conventional. Their latest handset has been equipped with the first Alpha keypad i.e. ABCDE… This new ‘innovation’ has been designed for a new business series that the company is going to start. I don’t see how this would be more comfortable as most users, especially those of the business class segment, would prefer the QWERTY as it resembles a computer keyboard. The whole point of a QWERTY type keypad was to emulate the computer keyboard for quicker typing. The new keypad design will feature in their B2 and B5 dual SIM devices that will be out soon. There’s no price tag mentioned just yet or official launch date. The Alpha-keypad may seem like a new concept but the big question is, will the business class user really go for it? We’d like to know what you think. Let us know by leaving your comments below. Would you prefer a QWERTY or the Alpha-keypad. |
