Google Hotpot Goes Global, Can Review Places in Hindi

| by Padmini Harchandrai | Web apps

Google announced that their location review service, Hotpot will now show up within Google search results. Earlier this year, Hotpot was used to tie into Google Places, and now when you do a Google search for attractions in a particular city, for instance, 'restaurants Mumbai', places will be ranked based on yours and your friends' reviews that you've added in Hotpot. After reviewing certain places in Mumbai, I did a search for 'restaurants Rome' and it showed me results based on algorithms of the restaurants that I liked in Mumbai.

In its globalization efforts, Google's also allowed users to start reviewing places in 38 new languages, Hindi included. For this, you'll need to have a Hindi enabled device, of course. This is nice because it opens up the reviewing doors to a lot more people and allows for more variety and accuracy of the average rating and opinion. So start Hotpot-ing, your city will be all the more tourist friendly for it.
