YouTube, Google's popular video viewing destination will now don a new role, that of an educator. Google has introduced its latest addition to YouTube - YouTube for Schools, which true to its name has set out to change the way education is meted out to young minds. Using this latest feature, students across schools with Internet access will be able to access this service from within their school network. Click here to get a detailed idea on how to setup YouTube for Schools in your school network.

YouTube for Schools gives students access to a host of complete educational videos from YouTube EDU for free. Content, here has been categorized under a broad range of three learning segments - primary and secondary, college and university, and lifelong learning; and based on the requirements of these segments YouTube has added videos. These videos have been sourced from several global institutions, like - Smithsonian Institution, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UC Berkeley, PBS, TEDTalks and Khan Academy.

Yet another aspect of YouTube for Schools is YouTube for Teachers, which Google claims will give teachers a know-how of how to best use YouTube within a classroom. "YouTube.com/Teachers was created to help teachers use educational YouTube videos to educate, engage and inspire their students. We know how busy teachers can be so we've worked with a group of teachers to put together playlists of partner videos that align with common core standards".
