Web Site Calculates Users' Life Span

06 Mar, 2007, 4:27 pm IST | Reuters | Services

Life's too short, the saying goes, and a black humour Internet site called Death Clock lets you know exactly how brief it is.

Advertising itself as the Web's 'friendly reminder that life is slipping away', deathclock.com lets you input your age, gender, weight and whether you smoke or not and then 'calculates' how long you've got to live in a bid to raise health awareness.

The site stresses that the clock is not scientific.

"This is not supposed to be a life insurance site or a census bureau outfit. This is a game, folks. Nothing more, nothing less," it says.

It also runs obituaries of celebrities who are still alive. One of the most popular is for pop star Britney Spears.
