LAVA launches new pocket wireless router, the W150

LAVA Mobiles have announced their foray into the pocket wireless router market with their flagship product – the W150. The router’s main USP is that it can share internet and data between a maximum of 32 users within a 50 meter range. The router comes with a Plug and Play option and no software installation is required on either of the Windows operating systems, Android 1.6+ or on Mac 10.4.9+. Connection to the Internet can be achieved through ADSL/Cable Broadband (RJ45) port or USB Data card and both EVDO & 3G dongles are supported, as well. Lava’s new W150 pocket router
The gateways supported by the router are TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP Server, NAT/NAPT, DNS Relay, SNTP, UPnP, Static Routing, MAC/URL/IP filter, VPN Pass-through, MAC Clone and Radius Server. As part of the specifications, the W150 has the following built-in firewall and encryption standards - WEP Encryption, 64/128 bits, WPA, WPA2; Authentication: 802.1x, Pre-Shared Key (PSK); Encryption: AES, TKIP; Single SSID Broadcast; SSID –Supported.
The ports include the standard USB 2.0 Modem Interface, DC Power, a 10/100 Ethernet port, and microUSB for charging. The W150 router consists of five status LEDs for Power, Battery, Wi-Fi, Network Mode and Signal and weighs 100grams with dimensions of 94 x 61 x 14.7. It comes with a 2300 mAH Li-ion battery with four hour continuous usage support. According to LAVA, their new W150 is targeted towards all customer profiles from home individuals to SME to business houses and retails at a price of Rs. 2,900. |
