Rock Band to Rock the Wii

01 Feb, 2008, 2:00 pm IST | Avinash Bali | Console

EA’s rock band simulator that had Xbox360, PS3 and PS2 owners forming their very own bands is now headed to the Wii. Here’s the informal announcement from EA’s new CEO, John Riccitiello, at a recent press conference:

"In terms of pacing the next few quarters, you're probably well aware of the more than $2.5 million music downloads that have occurred on Rock Band, and that's a good part of the business. But what is probably the most interesting piece right now is the coming launch on the Wii, the continued sale of the core platforms in North America and then the fiscal '09 launch across Europe against all of the SKUs. So frankly, for the balance of our Q4 and the first half of fiscal '09, Rock Band's a key focus."

Sadly the game hasn’t been launched in India yet, but we’re hoping that happens this year.
