Traditionally the apple's supposed to fall downwards from the tree and hit someone on the head, but this time we're wondering what's hit Apple's head. Either someone fell asleep on the job or the App Store judges have become a little lax. A BitTorrent client, iControlBits has made it to the App Store. The application basically allows you to control your BitTorrent account from your mobile device, by opening an interface for Transmission, a popular BitTorrent controller for Mac. Using the application, you can start, stop, pause your transfers, as well as connect to Transmission's servers. iControlBits showing download progress of material Apple wouldn't like The application costs $1.99 (Rs. 89) and we're placing bets on how long it lasts in the App Store. The developer, Luka Hlastec says that the application still needs some improvements which will come through updates. However, since Apple reviews every update, it might be in the update stage that the application could be pulled. But the reason Apple should have a problem in the first place is that the application shows download abilities for software that Apple themselves don't allow on BitTorrent like the OS X combo. Back in October, an application with similar functions as iControlBits made it to the App Store and was pulled three days later. |
