Don't panic, the Nokia Ovi Music Unlimited service shut down isn't affecting us, and no it's not because no one cares. The service will still be available in certain countries like India, Brazil, China, Turkey Indonesia and South Africa. Nokia pulled this program because they said there's a lot of disinterest in the service. This has to do with the fact that songs downloaded via Music Unlimited come with DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection and are device specific. Download a song in relief The service originally provided unlimited free music downloads that were included in the price of the phone and backed by Universal Music, EMI, Warner Music Group and Sony. Ovi music users will still have access to their old tracks but will not be able to purchase anything new. Nokia will also continue to run a music store with DRM free music in 38 countries. But like we said, don't panic India. You'll still get your paisa vasool. |
