Dell Customer Gets Refund for Not Using XP

19 Nov, 2006, 2:00 pm IST | Gaurav Seth |

BBC has reported that Dave Mitchell, a freelance programmer from UK, much to his surprise received a refund from Dell for not using or rather not wanting to use a copy of Windows XP Home.

Mitchell intended to use Linux, a free open source operating system on his PC. So, when he first started his computer he was greeted with the Windows License agreement, to which he said 'no'. The text in the agreement states that the user can get a refund for unused products on their computer if they contact the product manufacturer.

Mitchell took photographs of every step of 'declining the License Agreement', something which he understood well. He planned to use it in court if needed though he never sent the photographs to Dell.

In response to this Dell Spokesperson Anne Camden said that it was a unique response for a customer based on individual circumstances of the customers experience and request and that they don't have a standard policy for the same. Read Dell's explanation here.

It's quite short and it doesn't have any sort of versus multiplayer but The Darkness II is a polished and brutal shooter you should definitely check out, especially if you like ripping dudes to shreds.
