Guba Slashes Download Prices, Starts Price War

| Video download site Guba has started a price war of sorts, for downloading TV shows and movies, to lure more users. Guba will now allow users to download a TV show episode for just US$ 0.49 instead of the current US$1.79 for downloads of the same show on other digital video stores. Guba users will also be able to rent a feature film for just US$0.99 or buy a newly released Warner Brothers and Sony Pictures movies for US$9.99, on the same day as the DVD release, all of which are half the price of what others are offering at the moment. However, none of the video downloads on Guba can be burned to DVD, and downloads can be viewed only on a PC or Windows Media Player devices. Moreover, industry experts say that it is highly unlikely these ultra low prices will sustain. Read more here. |
