Microsoft adds Sync Feature to Windows 8

Microsoft seems to be on a roll with their new Windows OS. In one of the new builds, a feature to synchronize settings on the OS with the cloud has been added. This allows users to go from one Windows PC to another and be able to carry their customization options with them.

As of now, some of the Personalization features such as the desktop wallpaper and the 3D glass colour can be synchronized to the Windows Live account. Similarly, Accessibility options, Language options and more importantly, Application Settings which include search history and application settings are synchronized. Basic Windows settings are also saved such as the taskbar and mouse properties as well as wireless profiles. This way, you don’t have to manually setup all of the features on every PC that you work on.

To keep bandwidth consumption in check, there are also toggle options for this feature so you choose whether you want this feature to work on low bandwidth networks such as a slow dialup or GPRS connection, as well. Similarly, you can choose to toggle it if you’re working on a paid internet connection such as a 3G connection we would assume.
