MSN Video to Stream Live Acts

MSN users will now be able to watch live concerts by music artists as well as other live acts, from anywhere in the world, from October 2 onwards. Control room, live digital entertainment provider and producer the Live 8 event last year, has tied up in an exclusive, multiyear agreement with MSN to offer live and on-demand streaming of Control Room's music programming. Rob Bennett, general manager of Entertainment and Video Services for MSN said, “By working with Control Room to add original, exclusive content, we create an even deeper engagement with our global audience, thus unveiling significant new opportunities for advertisers. With this collaboration, artists now have an extremely valuable, cohesive, global marketing and promotion avenue to reach and connect with fans worldwide, while in turn it creates another key access point for consumers to get high-quality content from the musicians they love.” Microsoft may also stream Control Room shows to other platforms, including Xbox Live, MSN Messenger, Microsoft Windows Media Player and Windows XP Media Center Edition. One of the first live acts to be streamed onto MSN video is an exclusive performance by award-winning singer, songwriter and pianist John Legend, live from the Royal Albert Hall in London live at 4 p.m. EDT/9 p.m. BST.
