After the recent expose of the Brazilian Orkut worm which hacks into banking information of users once they download the Trojan file, it's time for another Google owned site to be affected. The hackers are users of Google's web hosting site who use exploit codes from pre-defined financial institutions sites, which when downloaded or installed on a computer, put the user's finances at risk. Google's web site hosting service is allegedly being used by hackers to steal money, via a Trojan file on the site's webpage which makes itself available for download. Security vendor Websense Inc. reported, “The file is packed with ASPack and is a banking Trojan Horse which is designed to steel banking credentials upon visiting pre-defined financial institutions sites."Google has responded by removing the Trojan but is still looking for a permanent solution, although it will be difficult considering it is a free web hosting service. |
